Meanwhile, this club is in serious threat of relegation as they continue to fall further and further behind.

This is a state that has been inflicted by Mike Ashley’s refusal to treat the fans with any amount of respect.Ī simple statement would resolve some of the growing discontent and confusion surrounding this club. This duality at Newcastle is furthered by a club that continues to run in complete silence.įans are at odds with each other about boycotts and renewing season tickets.įans and journalists are divided on the state and legitimacy of the takeover. We've reported what we've learned from sources and got dog's abuse. Mark also did respond in regards to the silence from Newcastle with the following tweet.īoth asked to go on the record but decline invitations. They are the only club in the Premier League in this predicament and the people who run this club must be held to account. Newcastle, with just a month left before the transfer window slams shut, have made no signings and have no manager. Mark Douglas is absolutely correct though that the state of this club at the moment is of paramount importance. The Chronicle is still maintaining that the owner’s and director’s test has yet to occur which contradicts the statement released yesterday. Mark emphasizes that he has his doubts as the information is not really new and the avenue chosen was very unorthodox. He was also very respectful to Peter Redding, who released the statement on Twitter. Mark is pointing out that he has contacted BZG but has yet to hear back from them. This is excellent from Mark Douglas and a response from the Chronicle was necessary at this point. I'm kind of not bothered about BZG until we get a breakthrough because we've been in this 'will it/won't it' holding pattern for months. In 11 years, this is the worst I've ever known it. It feels like a waste of energy to keep ruminating too much on this bid when we need action now, not words. That contradicts their statement & they haven't replied to requests on that. My info remains owners/director's test hasn't started. On the actual contents (I do think it's likely kosher), it says very little new & doesn't clarify what needs to be clarified. That's just responsible journalism on our part I feel (we always double source – if not more). If they – as Peter says – want the sentiments to be circulated widely and quickly, they need to verify it with other journalists – or release it in a different way. Not to criticise the person Tweeting it but we couldn't/wouldn't reproduce something like that as fact without double sourcing it. Two channels I have for BZG are yet to reply to confirm it's veracity. Well firstly, attempts to verify it have proved frustrating. Here is a series of tweets from Mark Douglas: Yesterday, it was Keith Downie who had responded about Sky Sports’ lack of coverage. Mark Douglas has responded to criticism of the Chronicle’s silence yesterday on the statements issued by BZG through Capital Radio’s Peter Redding.
